Live online sessions that introduce third graders to real-time weather data and data visualization, both meeting NGSS 3-ESS2-1. Teachers learn where the data lives, how to read it, and how to turn it into datasets their students can graph.
Start with dew, one of the most familiar results of condensation, and end with real meteogram data your students can graph. Teachers learn to find, interpret and simplify the data.
Weather balloons sample the atmosphere up to 100,000 feet twice a day. Teachers learn how that upper-air data is collected, where to download it, and how to turn it into graphs for third graders.
Both webinars meet NGSS 3-ESS2-1: represent data in tables and graphical displays to describe typical weather conditions expected during a particular season. The standard asks students to work with real weather data, and these sessions show teachers exactly where to get it and how to prepare it for young learners.
